The Sites > Site: < siteName>  page enables you to configure Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) servers and DHCP relays for the selected site.  A DHCP server automatically assigns IP addresses to devices that connect to your network. When a device (client) and DHCP server are located on different subnets, you can assign a DHCP relay agent to act as a client-server interface that forwards DHCP requests and replies between the client and the DHCP server. See  Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) on the ANAP  for details. When you configure DHCP for a site, you can configure the VLANs within a zone to host a DHCP server or relay. Follow the procedures in the  Configure routing  and  Configure zones  topics to add a new VLAN or zone, if needed, before configuring DHCP for a site.  Use the three procedures in this topic to configure a DHCP server, DHCP relay, or both, for a site.   To configure a DHCP server for a site If you want to configure VLANs within a zone at your site for DHCP server  and  relay, complete the  Configure a DHCP server and relay for a zone  procedure. Open the DHCP page if it is not already open: Log in to MyAryaka. The Home page appears. Click  Sites  in the left navigation pane. The Sites page appears. It lists all existing sites. Click the name of the site for which you want to configure a DHCP server. The selected site's page appears. Click the  DHCP  section to expand it. The DHCP tile appears. Click  View  on the DHCP tile. The DHCP page appears in read-only mode. Click the  Edit  icon. The DHCP page appears in edit mode. In the DHCP Mode pane, click the  DHCP Server  toggle. The DHCP Server toggle appears in the on position. Click the  Expand  icon next to the zone you want to host the DHCP server. The Zone DHCP Mode field and the VLANs in the zone appear. Note:  By default, all VLANs are in  Static IP Assigned  mode. This means that DHCP is not configured for the VLAN. Select  DHCP Server  in the Zone DHCP Mode drop-down list. The VLAN panes are now expandable. Click the  Expand  icon next to the VLAN you want to host the DHCP server. The VLAN DHCP Mode field appears.  Select  DHCP Server  in the VLAN DHCP Mode drop-down list. The subnets table appears.  Click  Add Subnet . The Add Subnet page appears and displays the Subnet Information, Range Information, and Static Host Assignments panes. In the Subnet Information pane, complete the following procedure: Enter the subnet and subnet mask in the available fields.  Click the  Add  icon on the Next Hop tile. The Add Next Hop dialog appears. Enter one or more (up to 10) IP addresses that you want to use as the next hop for client traffic on the specified subnet. Click  Add Selected . The Add Subnet page displays the IP addresses you entered on the Next Hop tile. (Optional) Complete the following procedure to add information about domain name servers that are available to DHCP clients: Click  Add Domain Name Server  in the Domain Name Server pane. The Domain Name Server field appears. Enter the IP address of the domain name server that you want to be available to DHCP clients. Click the  Save  icon. The domain name server is added.  (Optional) Complete steps i–iii to add another domain name server. (Optional) Click the  Advanced  tab in the Subnet Information pane to display additional configuration fields. The following fields appear: Default Lease Time—The default duration the DHCP client can use an assigned IP address.  Max Lease Time—The maximum duration the DHCP client can use an assigned IP address. Min Lease Time—The minimum duration the DHCP client can use an assigned IP address. Client Netmask—The subnet mask to assign to the DHCP client. Domain Name—The domain name to assign to the DHCP client. Next Server—The IP address of a secondary server from which the DHCP client can obtain additional configuration parameters. File Name—The name of a DHCP configuration file located on the server specified in the Next Server field. Domain Search—Click the  Add  icon and enter up to 10 domain suffixes that the DHCP client can search when resolving hostnames. NetBIOS Name Server—Click the  Add  icon and enter up to 10 IP addresses of NetBIOS servers that are available to the DHCP client. NetBIOS allows applications located on different computers to communicate over a LAN.  Click  Add Range  in the Range Information pane. The following fields appear: Name—A name to identify the range of IP addresses for the subnet.  Range Start IP—The lowest IP address in the range.  Range End IP—The highest IP address in the range.  Dynamic BOOTP—Whether addresses in the range can be assigned to Bootstrap Protocol (BOOTP) clients as well as DHCP clients. The Aryaka default is False. Action—Click the  Save  icon to save the range information. Click the red  X  to delete a row from the Range Information table. Note:  Click  Add Range  to include an additional range of IP addresses.    (Optional) If you want to assign a DHCP client a permanent IP address, click  Add Host  in the Static Host Assignments pane. The following fields appear: Name—The name of the host. MAC Address—The MAC address of the host. IP Address—The IP address you want to assign to the host. Note that this IP address must not fall within the range specified in the Range Information pane. Action—Click the  Save  icon to save the static host information. Click the red  X  to delete a row from the Static Host Assignments table. Note:  Click  Add Host  to include an additional static host assignment.  Click  Continue . The DHCP page displays the subnet information for the configured VLAN. (Optional) Click  Add Subnet  to include an additional subnet in your configuration.  (Optional) Repeat steps 4–13 to configure another DHCP server for the site. (Optional) To configure DHCP relay for the site, skip to step 3 of the  Configure DHCP relay for a site  procedure. Click  Submit . The DHCP server configuration is saved for the selected site.  To configure DHCP relay for a site If you want to configure VLANs within a zone at your site for DHCP server  and  relay, complete the  Configure a DHCP server and relay for a zone  procedure. Open the DHCP page if it is not already open: Log in to MyAryaka. The Home page appears. Click  Sites  in the left navigation pane. The Sites page appears. It lists all existing sites. Click the name of the site for which you want to configure DHCP relay. The selected site's page appears. Click the  DHCP  section to expand it. The DHCP tile appears. Click  View  on the DHCP tile. The DHCP page appears in read-only mode. Click the  Edit  icon. The DHCP page appears in edit mode. Click the  DHCP Relay  toggle. The DHCP Relay toggle appears in the on position. Click the  Expand  icon next to the zone you want to host the DHCP relay. The Zone DHCP Mode field and the VLANs in the zone appear. Select  DHCP Relay  in the Zone DHCP Mode drop-down list. All VLANs in the zone are automatically configured for DHCP relay and the Zone Relay Configuration pane appears. Click the  Expand  icon in the Zone Relay Configuration pane. The Relay Server List tile appears. Click the  Add  icon on the Relay Server List tile. The Add Relay Server dialog appears.  Enter one or more (up to 10) IP addresses for the servers you want to use as relay agents. Click  Add Selected . The DHCP page displays the IP addresses you entered on the Relay Server List tile.  (Optional) Click  Advanced  to display additional configuration fields. The following fields appear: Append Agent Option—Select whether to append an agent option field to each request before forwarding it to the server. The Aryaka default is False. Drop Foreign Agent—Select whether to drop packets from upstream servers if they contain relay agent options that indicate they were generated in response to a query that came from a different relay agent. The Aryaka default is False.  Relay Agent Option Handling—Select how to handle incoming DHCPv4 packets that already contain relay agent options. Options include Append (default), Replace, Forward, Discard, and None. (Optional) Repeat steps 4–10 to configure an additional zone for DHCP relay. Click  Submit . The DHCP relay configuration is saved for the selected site.  To configure a DHCP server and relay for a zone Open the DHCP page if it is not already open: Log in to MyAryaka. The Home page appears. Click  Sites  in the left navigation pane. The Sites page appears. It lists all existing sites. Click the name of the site for which you want to configure a DHCP server and relay. The selected site's page appears. Click the  DHCP  section to expand it. The DHCP tile appears. Click  View  on the DHCP tile. The DHCP page appears in read-only mode. Click the  Edit  icon. The DHCP page appears in edit mode. Click the  DHCP Server  and the  DHCP Relay  toggle. The toggles appear in the on position. Click the  Expand  icon next to the zone you want to host the DHCP server and relay. The Zone DHCP Mode field and the VLANs in the zone appear. Note:  By default, all VLANs are in  Static IP Assigned  mode. This means that DHCP is not configured for the VLAN. Select  DHCP Server and Relay  in the Zone DHCP Mode drop-down list. The VLAN panes are now expandable and the Zone Relay Configuration pane appears. Click the  Expand  icon next to the VLAN you want to host the DHCP server. The VLAN DHCP Mode field appears.  Select  DHCP Server  in the VLAN DHCP Mode drop-down list. The subnets table appears. Complete steps 8–13 of the  Configure a DHCP server for a site  procedure. Click the  Expand  icon next to the VLAN you want to host the DHCP relay. The VLAN DHCP Mode field appears.  Select  DHCP Relay  in the Zone DHCP Mode drop-down list. The following optional fields appear: Interface—Select the ANAP interface for the VLAN. VLAN GW IP—Enter the IP address of the VLAN gateway. (Optional) If you want to customize the DHCP relay configuration for this VLAN, click the  Customize VLAN Relay Config  toggle to display the following fields: Note:  If you enable VLAN-level DHCP relay configuration, zone-level configuration (step 13) is ignored. Append Agent Option—Select whether to append an agent option field to each request before forwarding it to the server. The Aryaka default is False. Note:  You must complete this step even if you completed step 11 to customize the DHCP relay configuration for a VLAN in the zone. However, the VLAN configuration takes precedence over the zone configuration. (Optional) Repeat steps 4–13 to configure an additional zone for DHCP server and relay. Click  Submit .
