MyAryaka includes role-based access control (RBAC) to manage permissions and access across your organization. This functionality enhances security, simplifies user management, and allows for more flexible control over what different partner users can and cannot do. RBAC allows you to assign roles (for example, Admin or Read-Only) to users and user groups, which determine the access (Read/Write, Read Only, or No Access) to features associated with each role. RBAC benefits 🔒 Improved security—Ensures users can only access features they need to view or edit. ⚙️ Simplified administration—Manage permissions for a feature by the role assigned to it. ✅ Compliance ready—Supports the ability to perform audits and controls which users have access to a specific feature by their role that determines highest access (Read/Write or Read Only) for the feature. 📈 Scalable—Easily accommodates growing teams and evolving responsibilities. Assigning roles to user groups provides greater flexibility by passing the role to all group members. Roles can also be assigned to individual users, for example, for a specific period to perform a task, and then removed by the Admin after the task is completed. RBAC in MyAryaka Roles enforce access control to specific MyAryaka features. By default, all users have Read access to Home, Monitor, Status, and Alert pages. All users also have Read access to Site Reports and Link Reports, but no access to SLA Reports. Additionally, all users have Read/Write access to Quickview Management. Roles can be assigned to individual users and to user groups . Roles assigned to a user group are assigned to the current and future members of the group. MyAryaka includes the following predefined roles use to control access to features: Admin—Grants Read/Write access to all features where Write access is applicable. Note that for some features, only Read access is not available.  Mig: Read/Write—Grants Read/Write access to all features except those on the Billing pages. Mig: Read-only—Grants Read access to all features except those on Billing pages. Mig: Billing With Amount—Grants Read access to all details on the Billing pages, including those that display a cost. Mig: Billing Without Amount—Grants Read access to details on the Billing pages that do not display a cost. Note the following about the predefined roles: Roles that are prefixed with Mig: are used by Aryaka Support to duplicate the permissions assigned to your users before this release. You cannot edit the Admin role. This role can be copied, renamed, and then edited. All other roles can be edited. If you import a role more than once, a new entry is created for the role. The most recent version can be identified by the timestamp in the Import Time column on the Roles page. Additionally, you can create custom roles as described in Add, edit, and delete roles .  The Access Control > Roles page lists all MyAryaka roles currently configured for your organization. From the Roles page you can navigate to pages where you can import predefined roles, create custom roles, and edit and delete existing roles. The ability to add, edit, or delete a role in MyAryaka requires Read/Write permissions. If your user does not include this access, the Add, Edit, and Delete icons do not appear on the corresponding pages. To open the Roles page Log in to MyAryaka. The Home page appears. Click  Global Settings in the left navigation pane. The Global Settings page appears and displays a series of tiles. Click Roles in the Access Control tile. The Roles page appears. It contains the Roles table that includes each user-defined and predefined role in a table row and the following columns: Name—Name of the role. The name links to the role's details page. By default, the page displays the Role Info tab. It also includes the Assigned Users & User Groups tab. Config Status—Status of the role: either Configured or Provisioning. Description—An explanation of the feature access provided or denied by this role. Import Time—Date and time this predefined role was imported. Custom roles do not display a timestamp in the column.  Last Modified—Date and time this role was most recently edited.  To view role details On the Roles page, click the name of the role whose details you want to view. The selected role's read-only details page appears. The details are displayed in the following two panes: Role Info—Displays general information about the role (name, description, and timestamps for modification and import).  Access Details—Displays whether each listed feature requires Read or Read/Write permissions to access it. To import predefined roles On the Roles page, click Import Roles . The Import Roles dialog appears. It displays the available predefined roles that you can import. Note that the Role Source column identifies Aryaka as the source. Custom roles can also originate from Partner users who creates them, then distribute them to their Customer users. Click one or more roles that you want to import, or click Select All to import all roles. A check appears next to the selected sites.  Click  Add Selected . The Roles page appears with the selected roles displayed in the Roles table.  RBAC best practices Review and edit the roles that are assigned to your users and user groups as required. Go to the Global Settings > Access Control > Roles > roleName page to ensure users assigned the role that grants Read/Write access to Access Control Management are the people you want to manage the role assignments for individual users and user groups. This access governs critical role mappings. Review the users that are members of the the Admin user group. These users have the highest level of access to all features through the Admin role assigned to the group. Ensure that only appropriate individuals are members of this user group, and remove users if necessary. Contact our support team if you need help mapping your current permissions to roles.
