Optimization rules are applied to all TCP traffic that traverses the VPN Path Aryaka network. The Optimization Rules page lists the conditions for which optimization is performed or ignored for customer traffic on VPN Path Aryaka. Optimization rules include traffic match criteria and actions. These actions are performed when the associated traffic match criteria is true. The match criteria identify traffic using: Server IP or subnet Server port range Client IP or subnet Client port range When a match is made, the following actions can be performed: Bypass—No optimization is performed for the matched traffic. Advanced Redundancy Removal (AAR)—Matched traffic is processed by Aryaka's patented compression and deduplication technology.  Proxy—Matched traffic can have one of the following proxies applied to it: CIFS—Intercepts SMB/CIFS connections and optimizes them by applying predictive prefetching and caching of data. SSL—Intercepts SSL handshakes using shared certificates and keys and reduces SSL handshake time. It also allows for HTTPS traffic to get ARR applied to it. FTP—Intercepts FTP control connection, detects the FTP data connection, and tracks statistics. MAPI—Intercepts EPMAP control connection, detects the EPMAP data connection, and tracks statistics. Fast Intercept—Causes the POP that participates in the connection to make the TCP connection between the customer client and the geographically nearest POP. This causes the client to see faster response to a connection setup request. A connection that has Fast Intercept applied to it also gets the benefit of Aryaka's stable core and superior TCP optimization engine. Contact customer support  if you would like these rules updated. To view the optimization rules Navigate to SD-WAN  > Optimization Rules . The Optimization Rules page appears. It contains a table that lists each rule. The rules are read and evaluated from the top to the bottom until a match is found. The actions defined in the matching rule are then performed. Note the following: If a row displays a check in the the Action Bypass column, no optimization is performed for the traffic identified by the row. If a row does not display a check in the the Action Bypass column, the traffic can have one or more of the other options checked. Note that rule name typically describes the match condition. Contact customer support if you want any of the names adjusted. Related topics SD-WAN connectivity Monitor VPN Path Aryaka
